Colds, Sore throats

Try this drink at the onset of a cold to ease the effects of the usual symptoms.

This drink promotes cleansing of your system through perspiration and helps soothe sore throats.

  • Juice of 1 lime or less
  • 1 chunk of ginger peeled, to fit in a tablespoon, more or less to suit your taste
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • (Found at any grocery store)

Pour 1 cup of boiling water over ingredients and steep. The longer it steeps the more you'll benefit from the ginger.

    Insomnia from Exhaustion

A half cup before going to bed will calm your nerves and let you sleep.

    Mix equal parts of:

  • Dill seed
  • Fennel seed
  • Peppermint leaves
  • (Found at most grocery stores)

Pour boiling water over 1 tsp of mixture, sweeten with honey, let steep and sip warm.

    Upset Stomach

Sip a cup of this tea and it will even calm the feelings of nausea.

  • Peppermint tea bags or loose leaves
  • (Found in grocery or specialty stores)

That’s it, sweeten lightly if preferred. Save this only for calming the stomach, if you drink it on a daily basis it loses it’s effectiveness.

  • Lungwort
  • Mullein and Lance-leaf plantain
  • (You will find these ingredients at a health food store)

Steep 2 teaspoons using a tea strainer of this mixture in boiling water.

    Cold and Flu

This cup of chicken soup will have you sleeping your symptoms away.

  • Chicken Soup
  • Garlic (3 cloves or more)
  • (Found in your kitchen cupboard)

  • Echinacea
  • Elderberry
  • (Best purchased at health food stores for it's quality.)

Be aware that echinacea loses its effectiveness after two weeks and will no longer be effective.
